The Mother Plucker’s Ramblings

After four years of searching for the right location, 5 months of construction and 4 days of pre-opening shifts where we served thousands of meals free to the public, there is nothing better as a restaurant owner than Opening Day.  It’s really hard to sleep the night before a new store opening.  As much as people in Austin have supported Pluckers for the past 13 years, we still get those butterflies hoping that the people will show up on Monday. 

If you haven’t had a chance to stop by the San Marcos location, all we can say is that it should be the most fun Pluckers yet.  We have almost 50 plasmas, including 16 outside in our beer garden/amphitheatre, a 25-foot stage where we will be showcasing local Texas acts in the Spring and a huge circular bar that combined with our drink specials should help provide an amazing atmosphere for Happy Hours and Late-night partying.

Mark, Sean and I will all be there all week, so if you are in the neighborhood, stop by and say hello.  We can’t wait for tomorrow!

It’s official.  The opening of the San Marcos Pluckers is set for Monday, January 26th.  In the meantime, we will be running 4 days worth of pre-opening shifts that are by invitation only.  If you are a Pluckers Club member, you are invited to attend any of the shifts that run everyday from 11am-2pm and 6pm-8:30pm starting on Tuesday, January 20th and ending on Friday, January 23rd.  All you need to do is show up with your Pluckers Club card and you and a guest will be enjoying a free appetizer, free entrees, free dessert and a drink all as one of the perks of joining our club.  If you haven’t joined the Pluckers Club, but have been thinking about it, now is the time.  For only $20 you are basically getting $40 worth of food for free and you get the chance to be among the first to check out Pluckers in San Marcos!  See you there.
